Every struggling learner is a knight in training. Reading, writing, and math can feel like impossible monsters - until you have the right tools, the right guide, and the courage to face them. That's what Slayer Academy is for.
A knight doesn't run from the dragon. They learn its weaknesses, train for the fight, and walk away victorious. Your child can do the same.
For years, I've called my classes "Word Slayer" and "Math Slayer" - because that's exactly what language development and math mastery feels like for a struggling learner. It's a battle. And battles require courage, strategy, and someone in your corner who knows the terrain.
Slayer Academy is where that transformation happens. It's not tutoring. It's not catching up. It's becoming the kind of learner who faces hard things and wins.
They've been told they're "behind" or "not working hard enough" - but you know that's not the whole story
Reading feels like decoding a foreign language - even simple words trip them up
By the time they're done reading a passage, they have no idea what they've just read
Getting thoughts onto paper is a battle every single time
Math made sense once, but somewhere it fell apart - and the gap keeps growing
They've been identified with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or another learning difference
They're bright, curious, and capable - but school has made them feel otherwise
Phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, accuracy, writing, word study, vocabulary, grammar, mechanics, comprehension, and composition - for students who struggle to read or get words on paper: dyslexia and dysgraphia-informed methods.
Foundational number sense through pre-algebra, with an original curriculum designed to bridge the gap from elementary math to algebra - filling in what traditional schooling misses.
Learners who need support across multiple areas receive a personalized plan built to address each dragon in the right order, without overwhelming your child.
Private sessions tailored entirely to your child - their learning needs, their specific gaps, their pace. The curriculum is not designed for the average child. It is built for yours.
You'll receive regular updates, so you always know what we're working on, what's improving, and what comes next. You are a vital part of the quest's success.
Word Slayer and Math Slayer group classes bring the energy of learning together - students discover they are not alone in their struggle, and that shared courage is powerful.
Group classes are offered seasonally in Davis County, Utah. Class sizes are intentionally kept small so every child gets the attention they need to succeed.

I'm so grateful for your willingness to teach (my child) this year. Before taking the class he felt intimidated to even try to read. He wouldn't do any writing work because it simply took way too long to know how to write it down. When reading, he would guess words based on the first letter instead of slowing down to sound it out. And his spelling was worse because he didn't even know sounds to form words.
I have noticed a huge difference in his confidence and capability and willingness to read and to write! He has asked me to get him a handwriting book because all of a sudden he is concerned about having nice handwriting! He isn't afraid to read and when he comes across a word he doesn't know he gets upset with me if I help him too soon. He wants to figure it out on his own. Which is a complete 180* from before when he would insist I just read to him instead of him ever taking a turn.
When he plays video games and sends messages I have noticed his spelling is much improved. Not perfect, but so much better.
Most importantly, thank you for helping him feel confident to try. The program gave him the tools he needs to be able to continue to build his skills and be a great reader!
Thank you!
