Nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountain range, the garden is planted where a playscape once was, which explains the sandy soil instead of the hard clay usually found in the area. Organic matter has been added to the soil to provide nutrients for the plants. Four distinct seasons influence the almanac here, prompting times of preparation, planting, fruit-bearing, and dormancy. Today is the last warm day of the year before a cold front blows in. The purr of a lawnmower hums from around the corner, as neighbors prepare for the coming rainstorm.

Atmosphere is the heart of Nourish and of our vision. Obvious or hidden, within our control or out of our hands, atmosphere encompasses anything that contributes to the overall feeling in our family. This can be created by our intentional actions or situations not of our choosing, dispositions and personalities, spoken or unspoken expectations, or the residual effects of the community we live in. Think of it as the setting.
